Adventures Out West
Adventures Out West
our spring 2018 adventure of choice
We started our vacation by arriving in the Las Vegas airport late in the evening and setting out to our quick night stay at Mt. Charleston.
5 Hours & 41 Minutes until we reach our destination on the outskirts of Yosemite National Park
After only a few hours of sleep were up and at 'em early! Excited to be off to Mammoth Lakes, California!
Sometimes you just have to pull over in the middle of the California desert & climb to the top of the nearest mountain

Sierra Nevada Resort and Spa
The cutest little hotel you ever did see
settling into home for the next 4 days
the coziest lobby vibes you could ever ask for, fully equipped with a roaring fireplace 24/7
When we arrived at our hotel in Mammoth, we were told all entrances to Yosemite on this side of the park were closed due to unexpected snowstorms late into spring. Perfect. So after doing some research, we decided we could *probably* make it on foot to Lake Mary (without getting eaten by bears) if we left before the sun came up.
End of April, cant see the roads through inches of packed snow, 17 degrees, No biggie
We made it!
Self timer at Lake Mary
After a quick stop at the hotel to warm up, we received THE BEST advice from a local adventure enthusiast to check out Convict Lake, located about a 30 minutes from the town of Mammoth, in the Inyo National Forest.
Convict Lake
probably my favorite part of our entire trip
Lunch with a view
if ya can't tell- the water was FREEZING
